"Anta-vanta ime dehā nityasyoktāḥ śharīriṇaḥ
Anāśhino ’prameyasya tasmād yudhyasva Bhārata"
Translation in English:
"The material body of the embodied soul is perishable, and the eternal soul within is indestructible, immeasurable, and eternal. Therefore, fight, O Arjuna."
Meaning in Hindi:
"इन शरीरों के अंत में स्थित जो नित्य आत्मा है, वही अविनाशी और अमाप्य है। इसलिए, हे भारत, तू युद्ध कर।"
In this verse, Krishna explains to Arjuna the nature of the physical body and the eternal soul. He states that the material body is perishable and perishable, while the soul is imperishable, immeasurable and eternal. The soul is beyond understanding and transcends the boundaries of time and space.
Lord Krishna encourages Arjuna to fight by reminding him of the eternal nature of the soul. He encourages Arjuna to perform his duties without being attached to a temporary physical body. The body may perish, but the soul is eternal and inviolable.
This verse is an appeal to Arjuna and to all people. It teaches us to recognize the temporary nature of the physical body and focus on the eternal soul.
Realizing the indestructible nature of the soul, one can overcome fear, attachment and doubt and perform one's duty with devotion and determination.
